Position Available:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist lawyers in conducting legal research, drafting documents, managing case files, and communicating with clients. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in a dynamic legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Document preparation - preparing, editing and formatting correspondence and legal documents, both corporate and litigation
  • File management - managing large and complex files, developing, maintaining and utilizing an orderly filing and retrieval process to ensure ease of reference to paper and electronic records
  • Administrative management - assisting in the management of the lawyer's practice including, client communications, client meetings, hearings, and calendar management
  • Account management - assisting in the preparation and finalization of lawyers’ time dockets, bills, accounts, etc.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 Qualifications:

 The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and demonstrated skills:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or successful completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Word (with emphasis on styles and formatting), Excel, Soluno, Teraview, Conveyancer, Worldox and ACL
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, mediation/arbitration procedures and tribunal procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of business and legal terminology
  • Meticulous attention to detail and desire to provide high quality, accurate work
  • Exceptional communication skills to be able to liaise with lawyers, clients and court officers
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure, complete tasks with speed and accuracy and the ability to multi-task in response to changing situations
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to excise discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
  • High client service orientation
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, take initiative and be resourceful
  • Flexibility to occasionally work overtime
